How the mycoachbuddy system works
For a computer to be able to act for an expert to pass on their knowledge in near real-time and audio-visually it must first of all know who the person wants a personalised video lesson from and then must be able to accurately detect human or object movement.
In the MYCOACHBUDDY system a person gets to choose initially who they would like a personalised video lesson from by sending information to a database, it could be via selecting an expert instructor on a mobile phone or iPOD from a host of experts or model movements stored in the database.
To capture a persons movement and transmit this to a database which could be inside the above devices or a remote computer the MYCOACHBUDDY system uses wireless technology that can be associated with Electronic-Textiles or emerging MEMs 3D motion sensors which are very tiny Microelectromechanical devices able to sense movement in 3-axis which can be worn by a person or enclosed inside an object or equipment being used such as golf clubs, bat, running shoes, boxing gloves, bicycle parts etc.
Once a database receives the movement information it analyses it immediately against stored experts movement data or model action and the database makes automatically visual presentation showing differences between the selected expert and persons movement. Once the visual presentation is made the database is further programmed to do something special no other interactive system does, it selects an instructors stored audio comment on how to improve a movement and includes this with the new visual footage, so then a computer for the first time can act for any expert to pass on their knowledge without the expert needing to be with the pupil.
This new personalised audio-visual presentation made by computer only in near real-time is then transmitted directly back to the pupil for viewing on any device screen via the communications network.

3. The MYCOACHBUDDY database has stored experts movement data coordinates and analyses the incoming persons movement data against a selected experts or model action
4. The database then produces automatically a visual presentation which shows differences in expert and pupil movement and then adds experts stored audio comment/s to the visuals to provide personalised coaching via fast speed communications

5. Finally, the database transmits the new personalised audio-visual presentation back to the pupil by the same communications network for viewing on any screen, over the Internet or even on a wall with projectors coming to future mobile phones soon so pupil can improve their technique as they are performing an action. Holding the phone will not be necessary with our system.
